Home: A Step-by-Step Guide to Using Your PEMF Mat Effectively

I have been using a PEMF mat daily for almost 10 years. I would love to share with you a step-by-step guide that will help you get the most benefits from your Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Therapy mat.

PEMF Therapy at Home Steps/Tips

  2. Make it a habit to use it at least once a day. I use the chair model mentioned above in my easy chair in the living room. Every morning I sit on it for 20 minutes while I have my coffee and read my daily devotions. And then again in the evening, I sit on it for 1 hour while watching TV. This way getting my therapy sessions fit into my current schedule, I don’t have to make time to do PEMF therapy.
  3. Drink 8-10 ounces of water before and after your PEMF session to help facilitate the release of toxins.
  4. For some mats, you should use a sheet or towel over the PEMF mat to protect it from wear and tear but do not fold or crease the mat, as this can damage the internal components. I don’t think you need to do it with a Healthyline mat, the covering seems to be very protective and sturdy.
  5. Settings, you may want to experiment with the setting to find the optimal one for you. I set the frequency of my mat to 8 HZ and the time for the length of time I wish. I recommend at least 20 minutes, but I often do an hour. My PEMF mat also has Far Infrared capability so I can adjust the temperature. I set it for about 115 F. And man on a cool winter night it feels amazing. If you are looking for a PEMF mat, I suggest you find one that has a Far Infrared therapy option, which you will really appreciate.   6. Sleep- some people recommend that you do not sleep on your pulsed electromagnetic field mat. I do not agree with them, I have done a lot of research and I have not found any side effects of PEMF that would cause me to think that sleeping on the mat would be harmful. Some mats such as the EarthPulse are meant to go under your mattress so that you can get treatment all night long.
  7. Duration of Pemf:  I believe that regular and consistent use of the pemf device for at least 20 minutes twice a day is ideal for improving your overall wellness. If you are treating a serious health condition, I would do 1 hour sessions twice a day. If you have a low-intensity device such as a Bemer, iMRS, or Higher Dose,  I would increase the duration.
  8. Intensity: If your device has an intensity setting, I would use 1 Gauss for overall health improvement or 2 Gauss for more serious medical conditions. If you have not purchased your PEMF Technology, I suggest that you find something that has at least 1 to 2 gauss. (Note the Healthyline mat is about 6 times more powerful than the Bemer mat).
